Insane!

Rated 5.0 by Niraj Koushik

The ambiance, food and service were top notch. We got a little late but they still served us really well. The food was really good especially the peri peri sandwich and the strawberry Margherita were just wonderful. Recommendations: The falafel wrap and the Peri Peri sandwich. Among the drinks the strawberry Margherita.

i had pasta and felafel wrap. the felafel wrap was amazing. The quantity of the pasta was Very Disappointing. As soon as i looked at my almost 3/4th emply platter, i was taken down. please work on the pricing and quantity of the pasta. i dont quiet recall what shakes we had but it was a chocolate shake and the other the mix big bang. So these drinks were fine (5/5) Ambience - 3.5/5 staff- 5/5 food - 3.5/5 vfm- 2/5

This place is quiet, peaceful. You can enjoy your food with some chit chat with your friends. Food they serve is good. Not extraordinary but nice. We ordered: Falafel wrap: This is a plateful dish which satisfies your tongue as well as tummy. Taste was also good. Tangy Italian melts: so we ordered this starter by reading some reviews but this was a disappointment! Didn’t like it much.

Street side cafe located in koregaon park we happened to review this place when I was in pune so lets start with the ambience The ambience consists of indoor and outdoor and it has some extremely cute and fancy decor. This is a perfect place to sit and chill with your friends or family. Coming to what we tried- 1) Tangy Italian melts - this is something which will melt in your mouth and will taste heaven. I loved each and every bit of it .Absolute hit. 2) Mezze Platter - I am always a fan of hummus and this did not disappoint us at all . It has various kind of hummus served with pita bread and sticks.Loved it 3) Fattoush Salad - It has mixed salad with pita bread and beet root salad. To my surprise this does taste amazing 4) Pink sauce pasta -This was just wow .I woul recommend this to all pasta lovers. 5) Brownie shake - This was the star of the evening .You cannot miss this if you are a chocolate lover .Loved every bit. 6 ) Lemon grass cooler - This is a good option for a mocktail if you are looking to try one

A couple of weeks back, I happened to visit Street Side Cafe in Koregaon Park. In recent times, Pune has witnessed a tide of new and comfortable trends, with regards to restaurants & cafe’s, it concerns the ability of the patrons to unwind, relax, or having the flexibility of working while having good food. Street Side Cafe recently revamped completely and now offers space to have a casual meeting, workspace etc beside being a diner. And I heard, they’re going to start with book reading sessions and artist get together opportunities as well. Well, it’s possible with its ambiance set so. A garden like setting outside sure promotes a more laid back approach, while you can also go ahead upstairs to have a meal in the air conditioned section. Simple & minimalistic is how I’d describe the place. Coming to the food. A plethora of cuisines ranging from Continental, Mediterranean to Mexican, Oriental etc. Best way to put it, healthy options and why not coz it’s pure vegetarian! Start with a soup of the day and let the course unfold slowly. We opted for “Broccoli soup” and it was healthy start. Not exactly ‘Robust’ per se, however, if you add a dash of black pepper, it’d add a lot of flavour to it ( individual palate decisions ). Since it was summer until a few days back, I’d opted for their “Vietnamese Cold Coffee”. Think of it like Filter Coffee on the rocks, except there’s some amount of condensed milk to taste. A totally recommended drink if you’re battling lousy weather and work stress! Suggestions for small Bites while you wait for the bigger players off the menu: •Tangy Italian Melts: A must have for sure if you’re a fan of cottage cheese and some burnt garlic flavour. •Pesto Mushrooms: Crisp balls stuffed with fried mushrooms and cheese. Highlight for this dish would be the accompanying Sri racha mayo dip. One bite and you’d be willing to pair each dish with it! I did that when we ordered the Fattoush Salad (Hummus, Baba ganoush & Pita combos are ever green!) Their Mezze Platter is also advisable. •Cheesy Paprika Potato Wedges: Fried to perfection and loaded generously with cheese and paprika, this one is sure to give a nice kick in your throat! Must have for sure! Confusion on what else to order? There’s Pizza too! We played safe with a “Bombay Masala Paneer” pizza. Try to picture how the cheese & Paneer looked like. It was fairly decent in taste (topped with Indian spices) and consistency. Just make sure you have it while its hot, no one fancies having a rubbery base. Admittedly, I was intrigued by “Hummus Chilli Kofte” pizza, hopefully on my next visit, along with their options which they offer as Pastas. Tomato Ravioli & Mac n Cheese for sure! In all honesty, the large plates are quite sufficient for 2-3 people easily, specially if you’re following a set course of drinks-Appetiser- Starter and so on. Never really been a fan of Burritos, especially Vegetarian ones, but Street Side Cafe’s “Enchiladas” are surely different with their beans & veggies stuffing, and much more heavier on the palate with all the cheese, salsa and sour cream. Plus there’s the green spinach rice! What I’d definitely suggest is to go for either of the following two: •Burmese curry & Burnt Garlic Rice: Strong & Pungent flavours that are inherent when it comes to Burmese cuisine, and worked perfect for me. •Carribean Vegetable Rice: A more simplistic dish served with a lot of veggies on top of spinach & bean rice. Frankly speaking, after eating a lot of dishes at Street Side Cafe, I personally felt that their cuisine is better suited to all the foreigners visiting Koregaon Park, specifically those who are not really used to the typical Indian “spicy” tastes. Say what you want about the mains, one cannot simply leave the place without having the owner “Shreya’s “ ORIGINAL desserts. The infusion of desserts with much of her love is clearly visualised in the Banoffee Pie. Biscuit, Toffee and Cream are sure to have you go bananas (for it)!. Alternatively, Lemon Cheese cake is also a solid option to go with to finish off your meal! In a nutshell, Street Side Cafe, like I mentioned before, would be a great option for people who want food on the lighter side (in terms of spice as well as price) and some healthy options. Would I visit again, definitely, for some of their dishes and desserts. But I’m only saying this because I’m more interested in non-vegetarian grub!
