A decent yet typical family restaurant, Sheetal is your typical, trusted and popular converging point for residents in and around Kothrud, Karve Nagar, Mayur Colony, Karishma Society and as far as Dahanukar Colony or Warje and vicinity for a decent meal, a quick breakfast or a birthday celebration! The food is decent although gone are the days when a plate of hot, crisp and freshly fried Medu Wada costed ₹40 (₹20 even earlier than that) and at Sheetal, ₹85 felt a little too exorbitant for a mere serving of those pair of desi donut look-alikes. So I am quite disappointed at the prices considering the tastes are nothing to brag about and the servings are strictly okay. The delivery is slow and the captain could be seen barking out orders to the attendants and cleaners quite too often as they struggle to meet the demand of a Saturday afternoon crowd. A little more practised efficiency could probably clear tables quickly and make way for those waiting for a table. Parking could be a challenge on a week day as you may need to keep one hungry eye on the plate and a wary one for an opportunistic traffic cop and his band of merry men in their pickup vans. Location is convenient - adjacent to Karve Statue on Karve Road at the junction leading to Kothrud Stand and next to a prominent Dominoes Pizza. Well but as the old adage goes, if you can't lick 'em, join 'em; Sheetal is still a restaurant of convenience if you around that area and want to give the more fanciful diners on the popular Karishma Society lane a miss!
