Idli batter was over fermented .the chutneys we're not good tasting either.the sambhar was okkey.but I had high hopes about this place.they really need to improve their quality .the only good thing was their filter coffee.

Good Enough

Picked up a meal for take away from the restaurant. Ordered Idli Sambar which tasted quite good as it was made the South Indian way, also the quantity of 5 idlis was totally VFM for the price of the dish. Also tried the Parotta with Veg Korma which was average overall, the parotta though was soft and flaky and something I'd try again with another dish. Overall, worth a visit for good taste at decent prices and different flavours especially compared to what we get at other restaurants in the city.

Very Bad

Now where do I start ? I used to think that this is the only place that serves authentic South Indian food. But after the last couple of visits I have made up my mind not to go to this place again. During one of the visits I ordered for rasam wada. And I was served some hot water with some oil and onions in it and 2 cold wadas floating in it. Seemed like it was the water after someone washed their dinner hands. There was not hint of tomato or tomato puree or asafoetida in the rasam. It was just boiled water with oil. Their filter coffee is so pathetic that I would prefer the roadside coffee that sells for 10 bucks. Please understand that this is coming from 2 malayalee foodies. I fail to understand how banana leaf can mess up these simple things. Plus no hygiene at all. Everything is so dirty!!! Any which ways, you have lost 2 customers even though you serve very nice idli and sambar.

A small outlet, with original Chennai flavours. We had Chennai Thali that has two disaster, Sambar, rassam, rice and much more, it was good. The Mysore masala dosa and filter coffee were great too. The rates are very much economical. A little improvement on ambience and cleanliness needed though. Overall a must visit.
