This is a unique and interesting Rally concept based on the TSD (Time/Speed/Distance) format.
Unlike Rally events of extreme speed for skilled drivers, Car Rally for the Blind lays more stress on skill and co-ordination between the sighted driver and the visually impaired navigator.
The driving Instructions, known as Tulip Chart, is provided to the navigator in Braille which the driver or passenger cannot read. Therefore it is the navigator who reads out the instructions on the speed, directions etc. and helps the driver to guide the car through to the finish line.
In a nutshell, this is an event that gives immense mental and emotional satisfaction to the visually impaired participants. This provides them one occasion when they are in command and are actually guiding the sighted people through the right route of the rally.
