If you: 1. Are a foodie 2. Are a meat lover (all kinds) 3. Live Asian Oriental food Then the Fatty Bao is the place for you. Nice ambience, superb Asian food, and great service make this a must-visit place. I’ve been here with friends and family several times, and never been disappointed. Ask Rahul, our server tonight, he took excellent care of us. Wonderful experience!

The Asian food bug hit me a year ago and I’m surprised that it took me a year to discover Fatty Bao. The flavourful portions, exquisite décor and soothing music was all well-matched for a weekday last-minute dinner plan! The ambience is all innovative and eye-catching with Asian artefacts across the wall, Asian lanterns adorning the ceiling and spices and condiments served to you in Chinese porcelain dolls. The lighting and music befits a quiet dinner date, a family outing as well as a night replete with cocktails and dim sums with friends. Since I was visiting the place for the first time and had only read a lot about their Baos, I decided to start with their signature dish, the Patty Bao. It is a preparation of minced lamb with pickled gherkins and black bean sauce, served in a steamed bun. The Bao was prepared with utmost perfection, with a rush of million flavours in every bite. The dish was served in a traditional wooden plate to retain the authenticity as well as the subtle woody scent. The staff next recommended the Prawn, Garlic, Chive and Sesame Oil Dim Sum. I’ve acquired a great liking for Asian food since a year and have travelled across Mumbai to taste the nicest Dim Sums I can effortlessly say that this was the best. Do not miss this on your next visit there. For mains, I would recommend the slow cooked Lamb Massaman, with lamb shank slow cooked with baby potato, peanut, red onion and basil. The staff was extremely helpful in breaking down the dish for us and explaining the intricacies. It was as delectable as described to us and was served extremely well. All-in-all, I am sure I would go back to Fatty Bao for the beautiful ambience, palatable portions, intricate presentation and hospitable staff.
