Gymkhana 91 is a all day restaurant located at Lower Parel, Mumbai. Based on the gymkhana feel and theme, the restaurants decor and food is based on the iconic gymkhanas of Mumbai. It serves a variety of cuisine like indian, asian and european, it's vast menu includes soup, salads, appetizers, dimsums, sushi, sliders, flat breads, mains and desserts. So here is what I had - SALADS :- PICKLED GREEN APPLE - Arugula leaves with pickled green apples, asparagus, artichokes in orange olive oil dressing. Quite nice, the dressing had a nice tang to it ! APPETIZERS :- BUTTER GARLIC PRAWNS - Prawns tossed it butter with loads of garlic, chilli flafes and pepper. Quite different from the usual, dry red chilli flakes and finely chopped bell peppers gave it another dimension. TAWA POMFRET - Boneless pomfret fillet marinated with southern spices, pan seared in tawa. Absolutely delicious, loved it with a squeeze of lemon. CHUTNEY EDA PATTICE - Boiled eggs covered with potatoes and chutney, crumb fried to perfection. Served with mint coriander chutney. It's a classic old school dish, the boiled egg with a crunchy crumb base tasted delicious. KUBER KULCHA - Mini kulcha stuffed with chilli cheese and garlic, made in tandoor, sprinkled with zatar spices. Wow ! This was really simple but tasted delicious, it was due to the zing of arabic spices. KESARI PRAWNS - Prawns marinated with mild indian spices and yogurt, cooked in tandoor. Rich and creamy, prawns were cooked to perfection. Loved it ! SUSHI :- PRAWNS TEMPURA - Vinegared rice, rolled with nori, stuffed with prawns tempura and spicy mayo. Served with dark soya, gari and wasabi. The nori was a bit firm in its texture, prawns tempura was spot on ! DIMSUMS :- - CHICKEN IN CANTONESE SAUCE - PRAWNS AND WATER CHESTNUT - CHICKEN SHANGHAI - CURRIED BROCCOLI - VEG CRYSTAL The dimsums were made using rice and potato starch. They were served with chilli oil, scallion and tomato dip. These dimsums were surely among the best I have had, super thin wrapper, delightful fillings ! A must try at gymkhana 91. MAINS :- CHICKEN BERRY PULAV - A parsi delicacy, rice cooked with chicken persian spices and saffron. Garnished with cashews and iranian berries. The berry pulav was a bit over sweet, even the rice had a high starch content. PRAWNS SUKKA - Prawns tossed with freshly grounded spices, onion, garlic and curry leaves . Nice, A dry preparation, can be even eaten as a appetizer. DESSERTS :- CARAMEL CUSTARD - A simple custard with a caramelized sugar base. Custard is one dish that you will find in all gymkhanas of mumbai, here the caramel custard was absolutely delicious, it literally melted in my mouth. Loved it's texture and intense caramel flavour. Overall, I had a good time. This place gives you an old world charm that difficult to find these days ! Will surely come back for the dimsums. Service was quick and courteous. anandtiwari.in

This place is a real hit in the area and the customers it caters too. Its not only suited for young crowd but also families can get accustomed with such cozy ambience. We were 2, but my friend knew better than me exactly what to order. We ordered 2 vodka based cocktails, one would be Admiral's move and the other is Victorian Cosmopolitan. Both were really great. we also ordered some smokey tasting beer which was good too. Food was something we were easily drawn too just by looking at the menu. We ordered something which was pre decided and executed perfectly by us. It was Pulled Pork sliders to have along with drinks and Roasted pork belly. Both were amazingly scrumptious and oozing out with flavors. To end the meal with we ordered small Chicken burgers which were good too. We had a great time and surely recommend this place to anyone.

Tiny portions and slow service. I alone ate 2 dishes of pot rice after multiple rounds of starters and still felt unsatisfied. that's how small the portions were.

If you are a foodie and you decide to chill with your friends over the weekend "it's complte waste of money and time". We ordered 1. Chicken dum kebab they were so tiny never in my life seen such tiny kebab yess over priced to another level. They also mention it's has cheese stuffed in it like seriously had to look for the cheese. 2. Chicken wings were still bearable but for the price I have better place to suggest. Service was very slow only visit this place if you have all the time in the world. Over all very bad experience :(
