Food rating LEGEND: AWESOME: Buy, be the legend of the table! OK: Give it a long thought, you don't want your friends to turn against you! BLAH: Really? Unique thing to do : Order Indo-Chinese food quickly Concept : 3/5 (QSR) Appetizers:  Peri Peri chicken : Ok Something amiss about the taste of this chicken dish, by the time the delivery was done it was a little harder than usual. It could’ve been better Thai chicken dimsums : Awesome   Loved the perfectly done covering of the dimsum, the chicken and well done packaging makes it quick to grab and munch away Sizzling Prawns : Awesome This was the best dish that we were served amongst all the dishes written here. Loved the crust with the ting of garlic. The prawns selected here was of great quality and if you’re a seafood lover than you should definitely opt for it. BBQ Chicken wings : Awesome (If you like a little sweet in dishes) I’ve always liked a little bit of sweetness in all the dishes I’ve had. The BBQ sauce used here has heavy leanings to the tomato ketchup, so if you like your chicken wings in those lines than you might like it. Good quality, nicely done wings. Main course Chicken Ramen: Awesome   Loved this healthy dish with loads of mushroom and chicken in it. You’ll love it if you’re the kind of person who hits the gym and still wants to have something tasty. It’s at the same time very filling too. Chicken noodles in exotic sauce: Ok I loved the quality of noodles used and the way it swirled in my mouth when I was chewing on it but overall the dish was ok. The taste was not unique and a little more love in making it would’ve given it a lot more taste Burnt garlic rice : Blah The chicken noodles in exotic sauce was tasting similar to this dish which let out a blah from our gang of foodies Chicken in Hunan sauce: Ok It was a good dish to have on the table but nothing much to remember about it Fish in chilly basil Sauce: Blah So this dish definitely lacked salt and that didn’t allow us to enjoy it to the fullest Packaging: The packaging was nicely done, none of the food was falling apart as the inner coating of the packaging prevented it and kept the food warm. This was a courtesy meal from the restaurant

Very Bad

I called for a veg dimsum platter yesterday and the dimsums were all not cooked properly. I have been an frequent customer and have loved the veg dimsums from emprino but since the past 2-3 times the quality has become really bad and the dimsums have always been undercooked.

Avoid!

I have never rated a restaurant this low, so Emprino you are special. I placed an order through Uber Eats for Thai Green curry and rice. I sat down to eat as soon as it arrived, that's how hungry I was. I opened the packaging and my worst nightmare came true (I will upload pictures so you guys can judge for yourself). I have never seen Thai curry so dark in color that it almost looked like spinach soup, but I didn't want to judge the book by its cover, so I tried it. To my horror, it tasted worse. It didn't even taste like spinach soup, if you ever thought what ground leaves from a random tree would taste like, this Thai curry may help you understand. There was absolutely no trace of coconut or lemon grass in your so called Thai curry. I understand that you are not an authentic place and I don't even expect mind blowing food from a delivery joint but the least you could do is understand what ingredients go in a dish before putting it on your menu. Imagine your Saturday night take-away ruined and how.

Good Enough

Emprino (meaning: 'quick' in Latin), is a QSR run by a husband-wife duo since the last two and half years. It all began with catering oriental food to their clients and their sheer passion for food and the dedication to serve good quality Chinese and Thai cuisine enabled them to grow over the years and establish themselves as a QSR in the ever-bustling and competitive restaurant scene in Carter road. APPETIZERS: THAI CHICKEN DIMSUMS had an appealingly thin and delicate covering with artistic leaf-like indentations that revealed a tightly packed, tender, mildly spicy yet flavourful meat within. The springy juiciness of the SIZZLING PRAWNS IN ALL SPICE thoroughly enveloped in a crunchy deep fried crust, was proof that the prawns were fresh and adequately cooked (not overdone) and they let out a faint peppery and garlicky kick and a strong umami flavour of soy sauce. PERI PERI CHICKEN would have easily been a hit if it wasn't for the tad bit excess of salt and the toughness of the meat (a tad bit overcooked). BBQ CHICKEN WINGS were absolutely well done but were a bit too sweet for my liking. I would have preferred a spicier variant in chicken wings. MAINS: While I could appreciate the mild flavour of cooked garlic in the BURNT GARLIC RICE, it still had scope for improvement and replacing the variety of rice used with a thinner grained one could make it taste much better in my opinion. The CHICKEN NOODLES WITH EXOTIC VEGGIES tasted very similar to that of the rice, making it difficult for us to appreciate any difference between the flavours of both the rice and the noodles; the only saving grace being the fine noodles used and the veggies imparting a slight crunch to every bite. CHICKEN IN HUNAN SAUCE was a better treat, letting out a characteristic faint sweetness of the human sauce, and is sure to please the ones who like a tad bit sweetness in their food. The flaky textured and tasteless Basa used in the FISH IN CHILLY BASIL SAUCE, unfortunately couldn't add any more taste factor to the gravy which completely lacked salt. I didn't try the CHICKEN RAMEN since it contained mushrooms and I'm allergic to them. PACKAGING: The food was neatly packed and there was no spillage from the containers during transit. VERDICT: Food Quality - 3.5/5 Food Quantity - 4.5/5 Ambience - NA Packaging & Delivery - 4/5 VFM - NA (This meal was courtesy an invitation by the restaurant to sample their menu.)
