E.A.S.T. an abbreviation for East Asian Spice Trail, a perfect acronym for the type of cuisine they serve. Pan-asian cuisine is one of my favorites with the recipes inspired by thai, chinese and japanese authentic flavors adjusted to suit the indian palate. The restaurant is located on the lower ground level of this huge property. They have outside seating and as we’ll as indoor seating. The bar is lavish and huge. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you can see the open kitchen and witness the culinary experience they have to provide. The food is cooked right infront of you so that it retains all the freshness and amazing flavors. I went there with a friend of mine and the staff was courteous enough to attend to me immediately and get me seated. The chef personally came and gave us a brief about the menu and what he had to offer. We went for the chef’s hand curated menu which comprised of- Drinks: Blue Alaska Cranberry Colada Palate Cleansers- Loved the Kimchi salad and peanuts provided. Salads- Som Tum salad* Soup- Hot and Sour Soup Starters: Veg- Black pepper Mushrooms*** (Cant get over it) Vegetable Tempura* Non-Veg- Salt and pepper prawns*** (super yummy) Crispy thai marinated Pomfret*** (i can never forget the taste and the crispy skin) Chicken Coriander*** (very tender) Mains- Veg- Chinese Greens** (Vegetables in soy garlic sauce) Kung Pao*** (Waterchestnuts, mushrooms and cashew with dried chili) Non-Veg- Fish in Basil and Chili*** (fish in oyster, basil and chilli) Bakemee Goreng*** (noodles tossed with sichuan sauce, chicken, prawns and egg) Burnt garlic fried rice*** (Rice with chicken) Dessert: Thai Custard Tart with Marinated Fruits* Overall Experience: Location: 4.9/5 Ambience: 4.8/5 Food: 4.9/5 Service: 4.9/5 Instagram: pathfood Follow my food journey on pathfood.wordpress.com Cheers!

It was an absolute pleasure to be invited at the East-East Asian Spice Trail for a food review. The place is beautifully done and has an open Live kitchen with a view overlooking the gorgeous property of Sahara Star. The staff was extremely courteous and took great care of all our food preferences and food allergies beforehand. Other than the intriguing and visually appealing interiors, the food is also up to the mark keeping in mind the flavors and specialties of Asian food from the East and serves Chinese .thai and Malaysian food. It has both indoor seatings with fine dining arrangements and a comparatively chilled out outdoor seating arrangement directly overlooking the extremely fascinating property of the hotel. . WHAT WE TRIED: HOT AND SOUR SOUP - It's definitely the best way to begin your meal. The soup was spicy and tangy well made with chicken broth, sprout beans, carrots in dark soy sauce. SOM TUM SALAD- Raw papaya salad with green beans and cherry tomatoes was marvelous and extremely well made. Chicken coriander & Crispy chicken- The fresh flavours of coriander and the crispy chicken well tossed in onions and bell peppers made it extremely crunchy and flavoursome . 👉🏻Some more dishes what we loved: Black pepper mushrooms Vegetable tempura Burnt garlic fried rice Fish in basil and chilli. For the desserts, we tried the thai custard tart with marinated fruits which was unique and worth a try. So impressed by the hospitality and fine dining experience at Sahara star that we can’t wait for our next visit . We would highly recommend you to try this place for special dining experience and some really authentic Chinese food.

Sahara Star has been one of my favorite property since the time it was Centaur.I relish quite a lot of personal occasions celebrate here be it parties ,weddings or family dinners. This time I got a chance to try East restaurant which specializes in Asian cuisine. East is located at the ground level with quite a few other restaurants surrounding it.The place overall has a charm of grandeur and cosmic due to the overall structure. Consists of 2 types of seating, one outside near the water-body and inside near the kitchen. Menu is extensive and has a lot of options in terms of Chinese,Thai,Indonesian and Malaysian Cuisines .I however was a little disappointed that I dint get to try the dishes which I would have liked to and it was a kind of set menu which I personally dint approve of. Thumbs Up to Chef Vikas Rane here.Excellent cook, knows how to perfect on the expectations set by the guest while maintaining the quality and integrity of the dish. Coming to the food I tried here Mocktails I tried Hurricane, Guava Mary and Camomile Cousins. Guava Mary was excellent. The sweetness of Guava ,punch of peppers and salt totally crushed it .Its a must try. Hurricane is a good mix but needs to be a bit more chilled to taste well. Camomile cousins is just a mix of Camomile tea, pineapple and honey.Quite neutral in flavour, sweetness of pineapple and honey neutralised by tea.Can be avoided! Soup ,Appetizers and Mains Chicken Lemon Coriander Soup : Thick, smooth and perfectly balanced.Chicken melts in the mouth, egg evenly spread and lemon maintains the kick required.Good flag off to the meal Chicken and Prawns Dumpling : No explanations needed. Up to the mark and goes well with burnt garlic sauce.Chef Recommended and a must try! Grilled Pomfret : Pomfret Fillets well marinated in Thai herbs and grilled to the point.Skin was crust to perfection, meat intact with flavours. Lemon needed a bit to push the taste.Excellent Crispy Chicken : Chicken well marinated ,tossed with capsicum, onions and coriander.Chicken is crunchy , fried perfectly ,rough texture and melts the moment you break the crust. Flavours excellent and no need of sauces here.Highly Recommended KungPao Chicken with Prawns Garlic Fried Rice : Chicken,Cashews and Veggies tossed with in-house prepared and aromatic Kungpao sauce.Smooth, composed perfectly to go with rice.Rice fried well with garlic,Prawns huge, crunchy and soft.Supreme is taste and quantity. Thai Fish Curry with Jasmine Rice : Pomfret prepared in rich coconut milk,Thai herbs and garnished with sauteed curry leaves. The aroma of the gravy and Jasmine Rice is captivating and gets you transfixed to eat more!Excellent preparation and highly recommended!Quantity is good for 3 folks ,so order with caution Desserts Thai Custard Tarts : Stunning presentation.Tarts filled with custard, mangoes, chestnut and topped with chocolate and Jelly.Tarts are crunchy and complements well with the softness of fruits and custard.Looks good and taste much better. Wasabi Ice-cream : Never tried a Wasabi ice cream before. Pista icecream with a tinge of wasabi. Creamy, milky and apt!You will feel the presence of Wasabi and a mild taste at the end of the portion.Excellent. Special mention to the Thai herb peanuts served at the start. They are prepared in-house and damn delicious. Staff is resourceful and knows whats needed on the table. They know the details of the food and can explain when asked.Special mention to Chef Vikas again for taking feedback on the food served. Overall Verdict : Excellent place, need to visit once and I am sure you will like It. Marketing team ,I have already shared the feedback with the restaurant staff and I hope the message is taken in the right spirit!!!!

Celebrated my dad’s birthday here and had the best time! Chef Bala and his team were amazing with recommendations and then surprising us with a birthday cake with our dessert! A special mention for the cocktail and wine list! Whilst we stuck to martinis for our dinner, I would definitely like to try more from that menu next time! Overall thank you to the team for a wonderful evening! We are definitely coming back :))
