Croissants Etc - Ambassador Hotel Reviews and Ratings - Nariman Point, Mumbai
by Saurabh D. Potphode
I ordered for Chocolate Chip on call and one of their team member said its available. After reaching to location (cake shop) i.e., 10 mins later the Server denied stating that cake order has not been received. After checking n hving arguments with team they clarify that order was placed in kitchen directly. Hence order won’t get completed. This was a very disappointing experience for me till now. #theamabassadorhotel #crossiants.etc
Extremely disappointed with this place. After having read all user reviews, I decided to try out some croissants and cakes. It is said the first impression is the best impression. For me it was an eye-opener. I purchased four different types of Croissants and a Black Forest cake. It is only after I reached home that I found that croissant had developed bad taste and the cake was no better. There were other irritants too. The counter was unmanned when I arrived there. I had to go to the reception desk of Hotel Ambassador to ask for someone to place an order. Even the bill payment was not a pleasant experience as my bill was taken inside Hotel Ambassador for payment. In total I had to spend 35 min just to buy 04 croissant and a cake. It was terrible. There is nothing worse in F&B than serving old rotten (baasi) food to customers. Croissant at Churchgate must be avoided for this reason.
Hunger pangs can often drive you crazy! On a thunderous sunday night when the city was battling another unexpected spell of rainfall, i was out on streets, walking towards Marine drive when i spotted the iconic #ambassadorhotel and noticed that their #crossiants bakery offering flat 50% discount on their bakery menu. (Note - This is only post 8 pm and does not include 18% gst) I couldn't help myself but enter the hotel lobby and pamper myself with a #barbequechickencrossiant and a #chocolatetruffle pastry! 😘 The bakery staff were kind enough to allow me to eat my food in their coffee shop which made the experience even more worthwhile! 😍😍😍The food was served in their best crockery and was brought to my table! Though I was served by a management trainee, i must commend him for being so well mannered right till the end! I must have barely spent a 100 bucks, but i was treated like a guest and not a customer! Impressive!! 😁 I left the hotel lobby with a never ending smile and a promise to return soon! 😉 #sunday#hungryjack#hospitality#experience#jobwelldone
Croissants was launched somewhere in the early 90s while i was still in college. The one at khar 14th road used to be our evening adda. We used to gather there all evening and enjoy a lot. This was our first experience of croissants in India. Now its shut down and very few branches are working. Happened to spot one in town....while we were around The beautiful Ambassador. This branch is the only one left which does complete justice to my memories. The jungli sandwiches.....the cheese croissant, the plain croissant are still as amazing as before. I could relish a plain croissant all my life with some coffee. The paneer ones used to be really good. But sometimes i have found them stale. But did not try them here so cant review. But yes, the basic ones were perfect. Another favourite here is the dutch trufle pastry. U just need to heat it for a few seconds before u indulge in this piece of heaven. U can thank me later.😀😀😀 Its literally one of the best desserts if u are a chocolate lover. I wish i could have more branches of croissants in and around my locality.
