A Mexican housekeeper in a Californian home saw me for the first time and later referred to me as 'gordito muchacho'. Trust me, the title hurt A LOT! It means Fat Boy in Spanish. This was years ago and I held it against her, but not for too long because the woman turned out some seriously bomb salsas (name em - fresca, verde, pasilla), soft tacos, and obviously my food love won over a petty ego hit.   Surprisingly, Mexican food is a reasonably-tried but virtually-always-failed venture in Mumbai. In the midst of this Mexican-food-gloom-doom situation, there is a ray of hope, and Coma Coma possibly alludes to the food coma one experiences after having a hearty meal there. While the rest go fancy, we go 'delivery only'...seems to be the motto of this lil joint located along Hill Road. It's legit good Indo-Tex-Mex food. The burritos are the size of mortar shells and can send a normal person into a stupidly smiling pleasant post-prandial happy place. The burrito bowls are the healthier and more generously portioned versions of the burritos. Let's face facts -- to hit the right price points, they've done away with chunky guacamole and sour cream in the burritos, and that does bother me a lot but them burritos still taste bloody good. Each of their burritos and burrito bowls is a medley of happy flavors for the standard desi palate. I loved the chicken and prawn ones the most.  On their best and most generous day, the Bayou shrimp burrito bowl was just an absolute bomb of a meal. The dark cajun-spiced prawns go bloody well with the rice, chipotle mayo and assorted grilled veg elements. Alas, this ver has been shut down for reasons unknown to me. The aubergine (yo! Don't diss the it before you try it!) version was a surprise sleeper hit. Imagine. Lightly fried eggplant, sauteed spinach, mashed sweet potatoes with some salsa, pasilla beans and rice and the combo in a burrito is shockingly baingan' good! See what I did there now? All the chicken version sisters, namely Southern, Chipoyo, Texan and Fajita are pretty darned good with varying degrees of healthiness. The Southern, with the crumb-fried chicken and pimento cheese and corn salad is bit of a guilty pleasure in the bowl form while the Fajita or Chipoyo feel the healthiest. Of the empanadas, the Pasture with the mushrooms, spinach and sweet corn has more oomph and flavor than the slightly more monotone Con Carne (minced chicken) and Mexigoa (sweet sour pork mince) ones. All in all, Coma^2 is a hit though in the recent months the wow has been fading. The quality has taken a hit, fo sho! PS: The chocolat tres leches may not look like much when it comes in a small plastic container but it is bloody good! Follow me on Instagram for regular updates: yatzgad

Terrible ! Terrible ! Had a bad experience... I ordered a guacamole and also a cheese dip from the 'chips and dips section' a section which only has 6 options of dips and no chips (then why is it called chips and dips???!!)) They only sent some dips and tried to explain to me that no chips are served along with it ... and I sld go online and order again .. but there is no option to order chips only ??? Very confused Neither the restaurant nor the guy Dharamraj who called me had any actual explanation for this ..

Ordered Chipoyo and Chocolate Tres Leches. Food came in good quantity with huge portions of chicken in it. The Chipoyo was brimming with flavours and the Tres Leches was the one to die it. Overall a very good experience with my first food at Bandra. Will come for more!
