C D'Souza Reviews and Ratings - Kalbadevi, Mumbai

Not really sure how to start because how do you rate a restaurant which runs out of food at 9 pm ? The place was a small dingy place in a bylane. There was no one but just the staff . I wish this restaurant all the best !! Hopefully you will have something to offer next time round .

Great place for some fantastic Goan food and the bakery products are just too good. Try their pork vindaloo, sorpotel, goan sausages and beef chilli as these dishes are really very tasty and worth the price too. Small place with slow service but the food is what you come here for so just enjoy that!!!

Sweet n short menu. Love the steaks n they r really good as i expected. Blessed with the warmth welcome of owner n really feel being in goan home. Sushegad.
When we talk about Goan food in Mumbai, the first name that invariably comes up is Martins corner in colaba. So when C Dsouza came up as an option for Goan meal we were all surprised. Anyways the adventurous people that we are we decided to visit this place. Location wise this place is right opposite Our Lady of Dolors church near Marine lines station. As you enter the lane you get a typical Susegaad feel. So the mood was already set for a Goan meal. They have a very small but focussed menu that makes ordering easier. We settle down in this spacious restaurant and proceed with our ordering. Our order included Beef chilly fry, Beef steak fry, Kheema, Goan Sausage fry. Trust me whatever we had ordered that day was good enough for me to say this place is one of the best for Goan cuisine. The place does not have a lot of tables but a big hall and spacious seating. The service is decent. In terms of prices, C Dsouza is slightly more expensive then other Goan restaurants in the area. A meal for 2 will put you back by Rs500/-. Just a word of caution. The food depends on the cooks mood. A few friends who visited this place a few days earlier were not too impressed by the food. Having said that I would still recommend this place to be on your must visit list.

Pathetic experience. As soon as you enter at around 2 pm which is a decent time for lunch, they have an attitude of turning you out saying no place, no sorry. Its all vague. First, it really takes ages what will you get to eat, what they have available, all reluctant to say or take order. even after ordering they are totally confused as to who has ordered what. Run by real old ladies and they really don't have any idea about what they are doing. They are more than happy to turn you out rather than serve you even if you are accommodating enough to say give me what you have when they don't have what you ordered. Initially after saying yes, after half an hour they come and say, sorry there is no point waiting, it wont come so soon. Haven't experienced anything more pathetic than this restaurant. Service can be slow and poor but they are attitude is also appalling. Also the food is not worth all this trouble
