Insane!

What worked: Truly luxurious experience. Keep up the good and hospitality. What didn't: Wait times were unbearable. My manager would have dozed to sleep.

Visited Baluchi, The Lalit Mumbai's premier restaurant for the Culinary Pop-Up with Executive Chef Tanmoy Majumder and his team from The Lalit Resort Goa serving Goan specialties. The menu is inspired by Hindu and Catholic recipes from Goa that have been handed down over generations. My favorites we're the rawa fish fry, the prawn curry and the tangy but delicious mutton vindaloo in the mains. Dodol n bebinca in the desserts were my favorites. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Blah!

My husband had reserved a table for us at this place through the zomato app and in the special request had also mentioned that was celebrating a special occasion. It was a weekday and hence the place was quite empty with hardly 2-3 tables full. The most disappointing part was the staff and the service. when asked for help for ordering dinenr the staff was quite indecisive and was not able to guide us through. however on ordering they informed us that it would take around 20 minutes for the food to get served and we were like ok. However it took them 30 minutes to serve especially when the restaurant was not running full. Imagine what would be the waiting period when it was full.  Neways we ordered the black dal and roti to begin with. Even though after waiting for so long the wait was not worth it. After the dinner when my husband reminded the manager to get the birthday cake, after saying a yes the manager went away and never came back with the cake; instead the waiter came with a cheque that too making us wait for 15 more minutes. The place, food and service was truly very very disappointing.

Armed with Zomato Gold we decided to try this upscale restaurant at The Lalit but were disappointed. We have had better non veg fare at smaller places. Actually it seemed the server was not very familiar with the dishes. When we asked asked for a non veg starter they served a gravy dish which had capisicum onions and other vegetarian fare in that dish. We were expected a dry item to munch on. Later we ordered the murg akbari ran which was really good and tasted well with rice. However the garlic nan that came along was just like any other regular nan we get at local restaurant, nothing great. For deserts we ordered angoori rabdi which was pretty okay as well. I've had similar tasting rabdis in local sweet shops and far better rabdis at high end restaurants so nothing great here as well. Overall a very average experience for the 5k we spent there.

A authentic North Indian cuisine restaurant. But I was not impressed by the quality of the food . And the service was also slow. The waiters seems they forget their duties. Only one girl who there who was handling from welcoming guests to service and cleaning the tables also other then her no one was bothered enough of their guests. The live ghazal is the face saver for a pleasant evening. The management will have to look into the staff affairs and take serious note of it. I will give only 2 stars 🌟 🌟 for food 🥘 one more star is given only for the hard work of that North East lady staff.
