The Love Room Reviews and Ratings - Tollygunge West, Kolkata

Great!

Rated 4.0 by Sharmita Bhattacharya

Ordered lunch a while back and quite liked the food. Simple order included Veg Fried Rice and Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce. Quality and Quantity both are good..the chicken pieces were decent in size but lacked appropriate seasoning. Rest all was fine. It might seem a little overpriced though for delivery as for just these two items the bill came for Rs. 244. Next time I would prefer to go n dine out there, rather than ordering it online.

Avoid!

I don't know since when the cats started being confined behind a glass door to a space where they barely have enough room to move around, but my second visit to this popular pet cafe filled me with a deep and bitter discontent. On my first visit, the cats roamed freely about the cafe and mostly just lazed around while we sat admiring them while we ate. This visit was oddly dissatisfying since all we could notice were the cats desperately trying to escape the tiny enclosure. Cats are territorial animals and it was heartbreaking to see them try to repeatedly try to break free from their makeshift prison. The staff came thrice to tell us that our order was ready and we should leave the cat room since we'd transfer cat hairs into our food. I live with cats, I know what that entails, and I wouldn't be going to a pet cafe if I didn't understand what it meant to have cats around my food. A sign saying " If you don't like our pets roaming about the cafe, then this place isn't for you." is still up. Maybe take that down, or let the cats out. Anyway, watery milkshake, good coffee.

Avoid!

My main issue with this place is that it’s akin to a cruel zoo of domesticated animals. Calling yourself a pet cafe and putting your cats in the tinniest pen possible with the cats constantly conspiring to be free is heartbreaking to watch. You said people complained about cat hair, well why are they coming to a pet cafe then. It’s cruel, inhumane and left me very very angry at the way they’re conducting business around the place. I don’t care about the food or service, I’m more concerned about the state of your star attractions. Let the damn cats out. Or get them a distinctly bigger pen.

Polite staff, calm and cute ambience and good food. Definitely a thousand heads up if you are a pet lover. The peri peri chicken pizza was a mouthful and the caramel shakes quenches the thirst perfectly.
