Finally visited the bakery I’d read so much about. As soon as you will enter this place you will get a whiff of their freshly baked goods that will flatter your taste buds. It is a historic one-stop destination for any kind of baked snacks and also offers a completely yum experience to serve your hunger pangs. The people working here are extremely welcoming and warm and you can ask them for suggestions regarding what to buy. I was told that the big cakes and pastries are more famous than the smaller ones. I really liked the heart cake, which they had warmed up for me and the vanilla fudge. But the cheese and the veg patties were below average.

One of oldest bakeries of Kolkata and probably the only Jewish bakery in the city , this place is heaven for me. I have frequented this place since I was a toddler. Ideal for take aways , and their offerings which include chocolate pastries, plum cakes , fruit cakes, almomd tarts , chicken patties , rum ball , black forest cakes , cookies , brownies , breads , the list is endless. Located within the Hogg market , the moment you enter this place you will feel the old world charm. During the time of Christmas , you might have to stand in the queue for more than an hour to. The heavenly smell of freshly baked cakes can give anyone a foodgasm. Prices aren't high and the quality is top notch. This place is a must visit

One of the oldest Jewish Bakery in Kolkata, Nahoums needs no introduction. Located inside New Market, the place is a bit difficult to locate but the best part is, once you reach the neighborhood any person can guide you towards the shop. Now, the inside of the shop is what 1900's Kolkata looked like. They still have those old furniture and display cases. You can order any item and it will be worth your Money. But do try their Brownie, Black Forest Pastry and Chicken Puff..!!

Nahoum and Sons is a heritage place in Calcutta i feel, their rum balls are to die for, authentic Jewish bakery making Calcutta’s favourite cakes over 100 years. Since my grandparent’s generation the quality of the food has been maintained and they gave no chance ever to complain. Love this place ❤️
