After extensively looking for a lunching place for the fam1, I settled in on Marco Polo. The place is quite delightful, with an ambiance that speaks of old world politeness and charm. It does seem to have a slightly formal feel, but what works is how tastefully the place is done. The staff were polite and courteous too. Coming to the food, we ordered three starters; potato provencale, mahi motia and Bharwan aloo firdausi. The potato provencale was an absolute delight to the taste buds. It was potatoes stuffed with cheese and prepared delicately to appease taste buds. The Bharwan aloo firdausi was also potatoes that were stuffed with a medley of veggies, cottage cheese, poppy seeds etc but this dish lacked the zing for me. It was a little dry I thought. But the show stealer was the mahi motia which is basically marinated fish tikkas; these tasted out of the world! For the main course, we ordered a plate of chello kabab, and two hilsa dishes since the ilish festival is on now! Do there was an ilish biryani and an ilish curry to go with the biryani. It was certainly a novel experience, combining two legendary items, ilish and biryani. The main course tasted very good, and the flavours used came out wonderfully. I'm overall very happy with Marco Polo and the stellar dishes they offer.

Yesterday after a long time I decided to take my parents for lunch to this renowned place in our city. Though we were very hungry but the service was a little delayed due to some issue in their oven. We ordered a great deal... The names with the comments are as follows: 1. Mocktails- Strawberry based and Orange based- The drinks were good. Not great... But good enough. 2. Lat Mei Kai- The chinese appetiser was tasty. 3. Galawat ke Boti- The kebabs were a little out of shape but tasted good. 4. Fried rice (chicken) and Yang Chow fried rice (chicken)- The rice was up to the mark. 5. Pan fried Chicken Noodles- The Noodles could have been better for sure. 6. Sliced fish chilli ginger- The flavours were perfect. 7. Chicken in black pepper sauce - This dish was Yummylicious. 😘 Overall a great afternoon spent. The place has a nice ambience. The staff members are very gentle and cooperative. 😋

This place is nothing what their reputation will lead you to believe. Came to this place with real high expectations. The food was not properly cooked, especially the Lamb Chop. The Chello Kabab was still okay. Had a really bad experience. The service and the attitude of the staff was full of negligence.
Loved it!

Among one of the finest restaurants in the city, Marco Polo is itself a brand that ensures quality food with over the top ambience. Spread across numerous visits, I've tasted their Stroganoff, Golden Crumb Fried Bekti, Murg Malai Nazakat and many others. And all the dishes appeal to your taste bud... so much so that you have a yearning to go back there, time and again.
