Govinda's Reviews and Ratings - Park Street Area, Kolkata
by Anirban Halder
I went to their retail outlet (adjacent to the restaurant) to have sweets. I had gulab jamun and chhanar payes (A Bengali delicacy). The jamun was not bad but the ghee-laden sweetness was missing. The chhanar payes had nuts and kesar but its sweetness was mellow, and the creamy richness was also not there. I paid Rs 53. I was aware of its premium prices, so I didn't expect value for money, but the experience wasn't satisfactory.

It's very easily locatable being situated just at the bottom of the ISCON temple, Minto park kolkata... Visited this place many a times, the food quality and the taste is just too good.. As a vegetarian and specially if you don't want to eat onion and garlic, I think Govinda's is the best place to visit.. The ambience is amazing, food is delicious and it's hygienic.. One of the fine veg places in the city.. The Thai is very good choice here.. Ambience is superb with beautiful pictures of Lord Krishna adorning the walls.. Very attentive waiters.. Comfortable chairs ..they have a huge collection of veg Jain food devoid of onion and garlic.. They also have collection of sweets, pastries ,samosas, chops...can't expect anything better in veg.. If you are a veggie, don't look any further must visit... Real good vegetarian food to enjoy.. Sweets are tasty and mouth watering.. The restaurant is situated in the complex where the iscon Mandir is and Is run by the iscon society.. The seating area is huge and comfortable which makes eating here a pleasure.. Price pocket friendly.. Parking no problem.. Left having a decent feeling.. For starters we had paneer, crispy baby corn which was good too.. Veg biryani, kulcha, naan, methi matar malai and the taste was fantastic.. Do visit Govinda's with your family and friends!!! One of my favorite restaurant!!! Big fat thumps up!!! Love love!! JAI SRI KRISHNA ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
