Codfather Reviews and Ratings - Keyatala, Kolkata

Rated 3.0 by Srinanda Majumder

Went in for evening snacks with a friend. Zomato gold was one of the reasons we chose this place. ordered beer battered fish and chips, chicken Tetrazzini and a chilled Breezer. Food was okay, nothing too special. Ambience was kind of okay but they were playing very loud music and we had to request them to tune it down. Overall it was okay-ish. Pocket pinch was 597 rupees with the zomato gold offer of 1+1 on food.

Dropped in for lunch on a rainy afternoon. The decor was simple with a few tables to sit outside as well. Coming to the food... - Chicken Carpaccio - 2 pieces of chicken served in a gravy with potato salad accompanying it. The chicken felt a bit overly cooked to me. - Roast Chicken Gabriella - The roasted chicken with the accompaniments tasted good. - Grilled Fish in Lemon Butter sauce - The name says it all about how it's served. Coming to the taste, its simply delicious. - Lamb Ragout - Lamb made into a keema and served with rice. Being lamb aficionados and not getting any other lamb dishes than this and shepherd's pie, was kind of disappointing. Also, this dish did not taste very good. Overall, this place is good enough for a one time visit.

Friendship day sorted with good food at codfather. The food was very good indeed. Nice ambiance and good staffs. Orderd for a hookah and beers too. A good place to hangout with friends. Zomato gold journey continues.

Codfather seems to be banking upon their brand name which was once set for some particular reasons but currently the dining experience turns out to be quiet an average one. The dining arena itself is a cramped up and the decors are minimal with the tables and chairs craving for an upgradation. They are acclaimed for their sea and coastal food but somehow they are reluctant to justify their accolades. The Fish and Chips with beer batter is just average and lacks a good taste. Although the Portuguese Fish seems to save our day as it is exquisitely delicious and baked to perfection. The service is again average, nothing worthy to mention. I personally feel it to be an one time visit.
