Avoid!

Rated 1.0 by SaumyaS

We went there for the 3rd time , the food is still palatable but the place it is mostly known for "beer' pale ale is pathetically depressing the taste is just not as same as it is described in the menu. Alot of rectification is needed.

Happened to go to Repete with friends last week, and was in for a pleasant surprise. Hadn't come across too many good reviews, and frankly, when friends picked this place, was a little underwhelmed. But I was a happy camper once I was there inside. Comfy interiors, with an outdoor / open air option as well, and a great band playing some amazing numbers. A special mention for the guy playing the violin...he was in beast mode ! Brilliant. Started with beer samplers. Liked the Red Ale. Moved on to LIIT and liked that even better, and stuck to it. Friends had good things to say about Bloody Mary, Watermelon Aqua Fresca and whiskey sour. Starters started rolling in. The ones that stood out were Lemongrass Chicken, Tandoori Jhinga, Mutton Kadak sheekh kabab, Roti boti kabab, chicken tikka pizza and chilli chicken. Didn't care much for the Hara bhara kabab or the honey cilli lotus stem. The former was undercooked, while the latter was too sweet for my palate, and should have been crunchier. On to the main course, and amongst what we ordered, Arabiata chicken penne pasta, Grilled chicken with herb veggies and orange reduction, oyster chilli fish, jerk chicken with buttered rice were good. A couple of Indian curries were good too, but the Chinese main course needs to be improved upon. A couple of guys ordered desserts - chocolate samosas and chocolate mousse. Passable. The caramel sauce with the mousse was really good. Being a brewery, I feel they ought to step up their beer game. All said and done, a fun outing.

'Repete' is definitely a place which I would like to keep in my repeat list for great evenings Spent a beautiful evening amongst the company of few (actually quite a few) wonderful friends. I am not too much of a beer person, except the fresh brews, and this brewery kept me happy. Red Ale was my choice out of the three that I tasted in samplers. Since the group was huge, I got to taste quite a few cocktails too (yes I love to mix my drinks) and my favourites from the cocktail menu were LIIT which was mind blowing (though it's a classic still, many places go horribly wrong with it), Blue Frog and my personal favourite, Bloody Mary (again, I always make a request of making it extra spicy, with extra salt and definitely double shot but, most of the bartenders do not trust my choice) which they made brilliant. There were though a few cocktails which were so overloaded with ice that the taste got diluted within no time. Someone must look into this. Another advantage of going in huge group, I got to taste quite a few things from starters and main menu. Starters which I loved were - Lemongrass Chicken, Malaise Broccoli, variety of thin crust pizzas, overloaded nachos, peri peri chicken wings, mutton roti notice kebab......to name a few. In mains I liked Italian and Indian food but Pan Asian was something I would give a miss when I go again. Loved the sauces (Alfredo and Arabiata) for pastas. Loved Dal Makhani and Butter Chicken. In fact even the Naans were brilliant. But, the star or the day for me was Chocolate Mousse that we ordered in the end (there was chocolate samosa too but one spoon of mousse and I grabbed the whole serving). It was Oh My God! kind of good. So basically, it was a wonderful evening with friends and food and ambience and great alcohol but I must not end without mentioning the great music that came from the Live Band - Sarigam Project. They were so brilliant that though I had a commitment and had to leave by 10:30, I just couldn't leave. A must try place!
