Orchid - Fortune Inn Haveli Restaurant

Okay so this restaurant is a part of a big hotel and hence we were very warmly welcomed by the hotel guards right as we entered. The restaurant is quite big, ambience is classy, just as you would expect in a star hotel. Coming to the food, there were a good number of starters that included Fish Fingers and Chicken Kebabs and some saute vegetable starters. Starters were well prepared (4/5). At the buffet there were loads of different types of salads, chaats, and many more pretty looking stuffs but I went straight to the main course section and grabbed on to some pulao and biriyani. There was a chicken dish which was pretty good(5/5) and a mutton dish which I didn't like(2/5). The dessert counter was as usual very tempting. I grabbed on to a chocolate barfi, brownie, chocolate mousse and a cheesecake(it was my first try at cheesecake and the experience was pretty good). Desserts get 5/5. Overall a good place, though it is a bit pricey for the quality of food( because it is part of Fortune Hotel), yet a decent place to have Non Veg food in a place like Gandhinagar where getting good NonVeg is a task!
