Jasmine - Hotel The Royal Plaza Reviews

Jasmine was a beautiful place that we came across upon our visit to hotel The royal plaza. The interiors are really bright and soothing and the staff is really helpful. We loved the dining area and the fact that all the food is served in exclusive china. We started off with a homemade gingerale which had a mix of berries, ginger and a hint of cardamom, a delight to have. We then moved onto the starters and tried their cucumber and crab meat sushi rolls which were amazing. A must have at this restaurant are their range of dimsums. We tried quite a few of them. We had their shrimp and water chestnut , the crystal chicken dumpling and chicken su mai. Our personal favourite was the chicken su mai! Absolutely loved the succulent chicken filling. Make sure that you do try the dumplings here! We also had the chicken tai chi which was pan tossed boneless chicken with lots of diced onions and bell peppers in a sweet and spicy tai chi sauce which was really good. The portion of this starter was also big and could easily suffice four portions. Moving onto the mains. In the main course we tried their chicken thai green curry with jasmine rice. We have had thai curry in a lot of speciality restaurants but this one stood out. The main reason was the perfect balance of coconut in the curry and the mind blowing jasmine rice. Honestly it was the jasmine rice that made the dish taste so much better. We also had the sliced chicken in chilli oyster sauce and paired it with some chicken pad thai noodles. The sliced chicken was delicately spiced and gave a wonderful burnt chilli flavour. The pad thai was also prepared really well with a lot of veggies and extra peanuts just the way we like it. Coming to the best part of our meal. Crispy fried banana with a chocolate dip. The bananas were coated generously with cornflake and then deep fried. There crunchy bananas were then dipped in a chocolate sauce and served! One of the best version of fried food we have tried ever. The bananas were perfectly intact and caramalised on the inside and the crunchy cornflakes with the chocolate sauce made it even better! We also tried their speciality which was the Jasmine special homemade ice cream. This sounds normal but this dessert is a must have, rather if you are in the area you should definitely go to this restaurant for this dessert! The ice cream had the perfect consistency and a very delicate jasmine flavour and was served on a bed of coconut sponge. It was a beautiful amalgamation of flavours and worth every penny!
