Amazing food

Everything about Mughlai food is about flavour. Akbar’s does just that, gives wholesome flavours without the commercial taste. The food tastes authentic like a home kitchen using heirloom recipes. Their mutton biryani on its on own is perfect. They do limited gravy’s but they are all spot on esp the Nihari. Last but not the least, the food is packaged perfectly in environment friendly glass jars which can be used for heating and give the food a great feel. Aamir the owner is personally involved and I feel he is going to be able to take his heritage to places with his enthusiasm and passion.

Loved it!

Loved the food. Fragrant well spiced and superbly tender meat! The quality and cuts of the meat was exceptional. Was refreshing to have mughal cuisine which is not over spiced.

Avoid!

Food Ordered - Royal Haleem, Sultani Nihari and Taftaan Delivery - The order was delivered before the promised time. Packing - Can re-use the glass jars. Innovative. Certainly doesnt not justify the portion for the price. Food - Well lets start with Taftaan. Nice soft fluffy and airy without execessive oil. So yes good. Better than the standard. Haleem - What to say... it was only lentils and no mince meat. There were over cooked pieces of mutton at the bottom. Tasted more like ghiya with yellow chana daal. May be they should change the name of the dish. Might do justice to it then. My dad asked my why have i ordered yellow dal ... Poles apart from how haleem tastes. Would love to take the chef to some good place so that he knows how it is supposed to taste. So lets just say the name is a misnomer. Nihari - Some pieces of mutton were cooked... others undercooked. Again - miles away from how the dish is supposed to taste... nihari has a watery curry which is full of spices... this one was more like halwa curry... Conclusion - Never going to order from here again unless i want to eat good taftaan. Hope they really do something about it. People who have never tasted what they are ordering might like it. But seasoned foodies are gonna get angry for what they claim to serve. I for one am really angry. Gonna go for a walk otherwise i wont stop typing... Order at your own risk! Btw a rip off for what the portion they are serving.
