Pongal unavagam is a small shop where the kitchen is open and is served quickly.Good place to dine and have a culturistic view. I ordered paneer dosa and aapam which I had to parcel it.I had a bitter experience with aapam as it seemed to be a burnt dosa.Paneer dosa was satisfactory in tase.Selective items like dosa varieties and idlies seem to be good. Place can be well maintained

I really like the concept of serving in clay pots. This restaurant is one a kind I would say. I went to the one in Porur. A small place with Bamboos decorations pulled my eyes when I went by the area. Therefore, I thought, “Let’s have a look". I went in. The staff were so friendly, repeatedly addressed me as "Sir" Rather felt special. Okay now to business. The service this nice cool beverage called "Panakam". It was so refreshing and tastes unique with a pinch of pepper taste and sweet at the same time. They served this drink in a big Pot glass, which was larger, than any mock tail glasses I would say. The Pricing is Okay. The Quantity they serve is also reasonable for the price. I tried: Panakam Kara Paniyaram Vazhaipoo Vadai Sweet paniyaram I thought will have some snacks, but because of the quantity they served I finished my dinner with these. Since the place is name after Pongal, I thought that would be there signature dish or something. However, turns out it was okay. Not so great like the Panakam, but just like every other Pongal I tasted. Only thing that is stopping me from giving five stars is the Billing. As I mentioned that, the place is small and (yet crowded at the same time) it takes some time to for them to arrive at the bill amount and to make payments. The suggestion I would give is "They could arrange for some kind of Uniform for the staff there" It could be something small like a Cap, shirt, or entire dress too. Because when I had my Dinner here, I was confused on who the server here is and who the customer here is. This Place accepts card payments, but only one POS machine is there so you have to wait for your turn. The Far as I know, they are not accepting any online Wallet like PayTm or Freecharge. Final Verdict: If you are in to old school classic stuff, this place is the best for you. Despite the cons, I would recommend everyone to give this place a chance. Trust me it grows on you.
