Zomato rocks in listing this low key typical mess/ budget hotel. Om saravana is a typical mess type hotel located on the main road in teynampet just before the teynampet fire station. It is in a very old building on the first floor. Imagine old building stairs. Initial impression may put you off. I too had my apprehensions. The hotel has CCTV surveillance yeah it becomes packed during peak lunch hour. No ambience please forget it. Very small place with capacity of 25 diners. During peak hours people wait to get a seat.1.5/5 FOOD- This is the highlight. Typical vegetarian hotel with South Indian and Chinese items. Meals limited - Rice- limited, sambar- good in taste Vathal Kuzhambu - good in taste Rasam- excellent taste Kootu- varies from cabbage to greens. Poriyal/ veggie - very nice home made taste. Butter milk Appalam Payasam Except rice appalam buttermilk everything is unlimited. Rice and appalam can be had by paying extra. Overall 55 for such a meal that too in teynampet is vfm. 3/5 SERVICE- Is ok not great plenty of servers but service is alway chaotic during peak lunch hours. 2/5 If you are in teynampet opp kamaraj hall and want quick fresh food at a value stop here. They have variety rices from lemon to mushroom rice. I have had meals, parotta- good and lemon rice- average. This place is frequented by many office goers around teynampet owing to the cost factor. They are delivering to nearby offices. Except for the rude behaviour of few people running the place rest is pretty ok. The rating of 3 is mainly for food taste and cost factor.

This is next to my office. We often go here. I cant say this the best, but its very good for its price. All items are good. very tasty. Breakfast will be awesome. I am having breakfast here for the past 4 years. Lunch is OK, but evening snacks has variety of items like soups, chinese items, dosa, fried rice , chapathi , parotta. My favourites -Poori - aloo sabji, idli , dosa, idiyaappam, kichidi, pongal ( almost all breakfast items will be too good). -Evening snacks - French Onion Soup, Tomato Soup, chilli parota, cashew nut fried rice, schezawn rice, Panneer masala dosa. I reccommend to visit this for breakfast of evening snacks or dinner. Lunch is also good, but it will be too crowd.

This a small place above a tea stall. its more of veg mess than a hotel. u need to get tokens before u take food. I usually head out there for my lunch as it near to my office and afforable. They have variety rice like veg briyani, sambar nice, cauliflower rice, green nice, pepper rice, lemon rice, tamarion rice to name few costs between 28 to 35 rs. Mini meals costs 50 rs and Meals cost 50 rs & its limited. You also get chapathi, parotta and dosai for lunch. they are good for rs 28. What you pay is what you get. Value for money. If your a guy who want to eat normal budget food on daily basis without spoling your health you can head to this place.
