Good Enough

Rated 3.5 by Rohan Kaul

My first dinner in Chennai was at this place. Nothing fancy about this place but for all the office goers, visa seekers or those who are in Teynampet for some reason this is the place for a quick and cheap South Indian meal. I had a gruelling day when I entered the place for my dinner and one of the staff member understanding my lack of Tamil skills spoke to me in Hindi and put me to ease. For a budget outlet the place has maintained enough cleanliness as compared to other outlets in the area. Fast service and very nominal rates make it a good choice when it comes to eating on a stringent budget.

Taste : 3/5 ; Ambiance : 2.5/5 ; Service : 3.5/5 ; VFM : 3.5/5 Eat 'n' Drink is a small veg eatery located behind the DMS bus stop on the way towards broadway...from the outside it looks no different than a regular juice or tea shop..but once u enter the eatery looks like a duplex which can seat atleat 25 ppl combined...maintenance and cleaning is pretty basic...parking almost zero as it is located in the bus stand literally...service is quick and prompt... Have tried the outlet quite a few times with the last one being over the weekend...this place also serves a break point for us...usual juice and yea spot...juices are really well made..fresh and with good consistency...the linch items like variety rices are good and complete VFM...in tiffen items the oothapam and pongal are the best... Prices are very economical and the food is worth it....A place thats worth trying for those people looking for a break area or kind of quick dine in place..

#120. Reviewed on 20-Dec-14:- After 7.30 AM Visa appointment at US Consulate (Gemini Flyover), was so hungry & decided to stop anywhere for breakfast on the way. The first restaurant I have seen was Eat-N-Drink, which located opposite to DMS bus stand. It's small restaurant which looked like bakery from outside & they serve fresh juices & south Indian tiffin. They have very small dining setup at ground floor & decent size setup in the first floor, which is not clearly visible from the outer look. Sat on the first floor & ordered a plate of poori. There were 3 poori's with aloo masala & coconut chutney. Poori's & sides were pretty decent. Then ordered a sweet lime (mosambi) juice, which was little watery. Overall a small veg restaurant which came as saviour for hunger. I believe many people believes the same, especially when the wait for their buses at DMS bus stop.

Loved it!

The juices served at Eat n Drink are amazzing and very refreshing. We always order at our work place and they deliver the juices @ Century Plaza. Due to its proximity..the juices are fresh and chilled with appropriate seasoning of sugar. You can also customize your juices per your liking. I want to try the food there and will put up a review soon.....:)
