My summer trip to Mumbai is postponed and that makes me miss all the Mumbai Jevan. While @karanjohar shared new songs of @madhuridixit Marathi Debut 'Bucket List' to add on to my missing list. Well, when you really want something, somehow it happens. . I got an evening trip to Mumbai for a Mumbai food feast, even before I could reach the airport.Well, in other words, Mumbai was brought down to Chennai, on a glass plate. Here I am, writing about the experience, happily listening to the beautiful music of Bucket List.Well, Ayna at Hilton Chennai is hosting the fest '7 Chefs 7 Plates', which exhibits the nuances of the cuisines by master chefs from 7 different Hilton Hotels in India from 14 - 27 May 2018 for both Lunch and Dinner. We had a fabulous dinner with a Mumbai inspired menu curated by Chef Mangesh Ghanekar of @hiltonmumbaiThe menu is very interesting. It is an A La carte menu with starters, soups, mains and desserts.

Ayna is bringing ‘7’ to Chennai. Yes! Seven Master Chefs to offer us dishes from different regional cuisines of India. I find this whole concept to be interesting and commendable. We were invited to try the taste of Mumbai. We started off with appetizers, Bohri Keema Kebab, Prawn Koliwada and Muhammad Ali Road Che Chicken Kebabs. The keema kebab was brilliant, it was so soft it just melts in your mouth. Prawn Koliwada was a tad spicy and crispy. The Chicken Kebabs were made to perfection, the meat was so succulent just couldn’t get enough of it. We also tried four Veg appetizers, Parle Chi Moongachi Muthiya, Dadar Cha Batata Wada, Girgaun Cha Sabudana Wada and Ghatkopar Che Veg Cutlet. All the four starters were good. My favourites were the crispy and soft Girgaun Cha Sabudana Wada and Dadar Cha Batata Wada (Aloo Bonda), which can never go wrong. The appetizers alone were so filling and satisfying we hardly had space for Main Course and yet we tried. We tasted two veg and two non-veg gravies with Chapatti. Out of all the gravies, I liked the Worli Chi Malwani Chicken Curry, it was a mildly flavoured gravy with a subdued taste which went great with the bread. Moving on to desserts, we were served four varieties. My pick would be ‘Lagan nu custard’, a delicious parsi dessert made with milk, eggs, nuts and raisins. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with great food and hospitality. This special Food tour started on May 14 and will happen till May 27. - - - - - EARLIER REVIEW - - - - Ayna, Hilton's Pan Indian restaurant has organized an Indo-British food festival with a specially curated à la carte menu which features dishes from modern Indian cuisine with European aesthetics. We were invited to try this special menu.  The menu was packed with a lot of fascinating dishes. We started off with Lassi. I had Papaya with honey lassi. Tasted perfect. They also had other interesting flavors like Saffron Mango, Peach Almonds, Ginger Mint, Beetroot and Strawberry. Appetizers:- Tandoori Salmon - An orange flavored salmon with Baby greens salad. The color of the fish itself was appealing to me. It also tasted as good as it looked. Chicken tikka samosa / Paneer Tikka Samosa - The name got me wondering what the European aspect of this dish would be, clearly the interesting approach in the presentation sorted it. The succulent chicken pieces, colored peppers and amchoor chutney were placed amidst two thin slabs of crackers which is reminiscent of samosa. I liked the paneer version too, the chutney was great with it. Arvi Tukre - Colocassia fritters with colored peppers and chef's spicy mix. It was amazing, probably the best vegetarian dish we had that day. Haleem Aur Kebabs - Wheat and meat delicacy served with Lamb and chicken kebabs. This dish was a complete delight, the Haleem was excellent and the seekh kebabs were superb. Khasta Khumb - Finely chopped mushrooms and morels were layered between crisp filo sheets. I liked the way it was presented. I didn't find anything interesting taste wise. Malabari Prawns - Crispy fried prawns served with thin slices of Pineapple. The prawns are marinated in spices for hours and then deep fried, So it gets an amazing crispy outer layer and the inner part is absorbed with spices. The Chef's way to have it was with the pineapple slices. Mains:- We tried a variety of dishes in this course. My favorites were Masala sea bass and Prawns Khichdi. The Pan seared sea bass was served on Khumbi palak. This dish was beautifully plated, the fish was perfectly cooked and had a completely enjoyable taste. Prawns Khichdi, jumbo prawns and shrimps with saffron flavored rice and mixed sprouts. For the most part I thought it had Dal but the Chef explained about the cooking process. The rice is slow cooked with prawn stock. It was so brilliant that everyone of us loved it. We tried a few Chicken dishes as well. Nukkad Da Kukkad, Murg Sirka Pyaz and Kali Mirch Ka Murg. I liked the concept of Kali mirch ka murg. Corn fed Chicken breast with mango relish in a creamy pepper gravy. I liked it, it was quite different though. It might not work for everyone. Nukkad Da Kukkad, home style chicken curry. It went great with the breads. Out of all the Breads, the tomato and mozzarella Kulcha was the best. We tasted two varieties of Pulao. The chicken tikka Khasta pulao was fantastic, it was more fun than the veg option. Dessert: The Dome - Chikki Kulfi with Baileys rabdi. Normally I love kulfis. Kulfi on top of rabdi was a double delight. Ambi Panna Sorbet - The green mango flavor was quite strong and refreshing. Khaas Malpoi - Stuffed pancakes with carrot pudding, it was pretty much like carrot halwa stuffed in a Crepe roll,  it was so yummy. The Peak - An Indian baked Alaska. The cake, ice cream and the torched meringue altogether tasted heavenly. It was the last dessert that arrived on the table but the first to vanish. This luscious dessert instantly became everybody's favorite. We absolutely loved it. We had an amazing and satisfying experience overall.

I was here for my birthday lunch and I absolutely loved the place. It’s a beautiful place to visit. The ambience is so good with soft musics played and with not so gloomy lights. The service is also so good. Talking about the food, since there was some festive stuff going on the usual menu had been changed. This new menu had cuisines from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. They also had set menus right from starters to desserts. I am rating the food 4/5. Overall this happens to be my new favourite place in city.
