Finally a 24 hour coffee lounge in the area that serves not only hot beverages but an assortment of short eats, desserts and even biryani at various points in the day apart from a regular menu during regular hours. Nice setting and ambience and very pleasant staff. This visit was for dessert and the tiramisu was delectable. The next visit will be one which explores more of the menu. Lovely place.

With just a couple of months to go for Christmas and New Year, Go Happy Go HoJo – Howard Johnson, Bengaluru recently conducted a traditional age old ceremony of cake mixing to usher in the Christmas celebrations! I was invited for the Cake mixing event at Howard Johnson, Hebbal. Cake Mixing event is especially very much fun than any other food events. This time It was an early christmas for me with a lot of fun, with my blogger friends, kids, staff of HOJO and the chef Dev Bose. It was real joyful event. We were all dressed up in a Santa Cap and Aprons and everyone were looking so cute and merry.

Mediterranean food is always a treat for the senses. Mediterranean cuisine can be best explained by the cuisines connecting to the Mediterranean Sea which includes French, Spanish, Moroccan, Lebanese, Greek and many more. What makes this cuisine so special? It’s the fresh ingredients used for any dishes in the Mediterranean kitchen. Howards Johnson or HoJo, Bangalore is hosting a Mediterranean Food Festival this week. I was invited for a preview of Mediterranean food festival at the Verve Cafe, HoJo.This Mediterranean Food Fest is special as the menu is carefully curated by HoJo's Executive Chef Dev Bose and its mainly focusing on the Greek dishes. Some of the must try dishes are Mediterranean Fig & Mozzarella Salad with Balsamic reduction, Roasted Aubergine served with Tzatziki Sauce and Pomegranates, Seafood Couscous Paella, Guava Sorbet with Mint, Vanilla and Gauva Cream. The Mediterranean Food Festival commences 19th until 28th August 2016. And Executive Chef Dev Bose has created an ideal menu which is definitely worth a try. Having the expertise in Mediterranean cuisine he was thrilled to take us on a gastronomic journey. I had the opportunity to try the following of the menu - Mediterranean Fig and Mozzarella Salad – The Fig created its own fruity and sweet flavour and when combined with the freshness of the Mozzarella and balsamic vinegar it was really tasty. Dehydrated Tomato Salad with Crispy Black Forest Ham – This one I highly recommend, as the smoky Black Forest Ham was just perfect. The artichokes were an added bonus to this salad. It was zingy and just perfect combination. Tomato and Red Pepper Soup – A meal is never complete, until you relish a hot bowl of soup. Tomato soup infused with basil and roasted ball peppers was just as simple to look at yet soulful. This was accompanied with a basket of assorted bread and bread sticks. Stuffed Chicken Roulade in Tomato Sauce -  The Chicken Roulade was stuffed with spinach and feta, it was just delicious and wholesome. The sautéed Vegetables and tomato sauce on the side accompanied the tender chicken well. Seafood Cous Cous Paella  -  This I had to give the chef top marks, a healthy take on the regular Paella, and had the toppings of my favourite seafood, prawns and squid. This is perfect for those busy week nights after work. For Dessert - Guava Sorbet – I am a complete sucker for Sorbets, as I do not like sweet desserts, so I stuck to this one. Guava is a tropical fruit and the rich texture and its own distant flavour was just divine. Overall, a very healthy menu, especially for those looking to eat right and the portion is just enough.
