Madurai Idly Shop Reviews and Ratings - Domlur, Bengaluru

Taste - 3.5/5, Self Service - 3/5, Value for money - 3/5 While visiting nearby temple, stopped by this place with family for breakfast. We had Idly, Vada, masala dosa & filter coffee. Taste was definitely Tamilnadu style, Idli is served with two types of chutney and sambar. 1 chutney is based on coconut flavored with mint/pudina, other was tomato chutney. Sambar is again tamil style, not the usual red color sambar that we get in other darshinis. Idly was soft and fluffy. Vada has retained that crispiness. We had been around 7:30am, so not many people. It is self service and they have seating area for about 20people.

Located at prime area and attracts huge crowd. Service is considerably fast. Not so clean and hygenic place. Most of the time the drainage is overflowing in front of the hotel. The bowls, plates and spoons are mainted clean.

landed at this place for some tea and snacks. I was served idli upma and ginger masala tea. One of the beat teas that I have had recently. The first sip really made me close my eyes. Good stuff.

It started as a good outlet, and I was glad to have Madurai Idly Shop near my home. Quality was somewhat comparable to the original 80 feet one. However, over the past few months, it has degraded greatly. Don't think I'm visiting this outlet again. Photos are of Ghee Masala Dosa and Paper Ghee Masala Dosa.
