Narmada - The Ummed Ahmedabad Reviews
Narmada restaurant like our Holy river is truly synonymous with the Rich Indian culture and at The Gateway Hotel Ummed it shall be abode to the delectable cuisine of North India. Subtle golden interiors with a hint of pink, majestic teak wood panels carved to royal excellence bring on to your platter flavours from Punjabi, Lucknowi lazeez, Royal Rajasthani razzmatazz etc. To complement and complete the experience; live background cultural music that blends in well with the traditional ensemble. The tableware has been specially crafted from Bell Metal (an alloy made of five essential elements- Panch Dhaatu) keeping the ancient scientific method to supply the vital minerals to our body. So, on a lighter note one can indulge in keeping aside the guilt factor. Delicious aromatic delicacies will be served where a food aficionado can one can pick from a variety of Nawabi and Awadhi preparations. I happened to land into their food festival "Sham - e - Awadh" where nawabs of Lucknow ruled the menu!! What I had : ASFAHANI Shorba: A saffron rich, Indian style chicken soup. Traditional Shorbas give you goodness of an actual soup which is meant to heat and soothe your respiratory system, unlike the artificially flavoured and thickened modern soups. Badami Shorba is also enriched vegetarian version... these preparations will give you the essential nutrition than just loading calorie count. Shahjahani Boti: Succulent mutton chunks served on a sizzler plate. As the name suggests, totally royal and lip-smacking. Such traditional spreads are difficult to find! Changezi Murgh: the gravy is full of cashews and flavoured with fenugreek tempering, infused with aromatic spices.. what more can your taste buds ask for!!! .....Accompanied with traditional breads Shahi Tukda: Age old favorite piece of bread topped with thickened flavoured milk and sprinkled with pistachios.
