Don't make the mistake of going here at 10.30 pm because by then everything is cold and they are in a hurry to close. Nonetheless I would like to thank them for extending the time toll 11.30 for us. The spread was lavish ranging from desi chaats to sea food starters to Indian and Italian entrees and the never ending desserts. You could just devour all the desserts yet it will be worth the cheque. The Indian main course was sort of a disappointment, a lot of dishes but nothing substantial to leave a lasting impression. The macaroni pasta's sauce wasn't thick enough either. The amazing desserts were the savior. It was a mixed experience but I have had better here when one comes on time. Perhaps next time it will be perfect as always.

The best part about the buffet at Essence is their desserts. I love the variety which is served here. Good balance of indian sweets and variety of pastries. Even the variety of ice cream served here is amazing. This is my go to restaurant for buffet. Also, they make eggless desserts if I request them in advance so that is again one of the best things about this restaurant. I have been here multiple no. Of times for dinner. I recommend everyone to have buffet here as this is indeed one of my favourite restaurant in Ahmedabad. They offer very good service for jain food also. I have hosted many parties here and the chefs have taken very good care of my parties. I have always loved their soup, starters, chat corner and indian main course. They provide best service one could ever ask for.

The food served and prepared through the live counter was utterly fresh, but the servings at the buffet were cold as ice. The fish fry looked like it was prepared a few hours ago and was kept to age till eternity. It was only the mutton curry that lived up to my expectations. The desserts were not so appealing too, they were colourful but tasted like laced dough. Services can still be made more impromptu, and the attendees can take the guests more seriously when they order something from their table. Don't know about the ala carte but the buffet not at all deserves the sky-high price. The ambience and furniture is relaxed but noisy as hell!
