The Mandarin - Hotel Yamuna View Reviews and Ratings - Rakabganj, Agra
by Sakshi Tomar
The Mandarin features in one of the best eating places in Agra, which isn't anymore. I went for lunch looking at the zomato review and is utterly disappointed with the place.first it was all vacant. The table cloth on each table was soiled and stinky. The washroom had no door locks, hand faucets we're broken and to add no water supply. This was enough to turn a customer down but then the menu. The food is extremely over priced looking at the ambience.

Though not so fancy if compared to other fine dine's in the city, this place still holds a charm of its own. The simple yet classy decor along with warm staff members who are always welcoming and ever-smiling to attend and guide you through the diverse menu is all the more a major reason to visit this place time and again. Of course the Chinese cuisine takes the highest marks, but their Lemon Fish and Shredded Lamb in Hot Garlic Sauce is to die for! Even the dessert section that includes Pancakes and Honey noodles are a divine to indulge in. Overall, its always a pleasure to visit The Mandarin.

Love the place and the staff! I have frequented Mandarin all throughout my childhood and loved the place always. Hence, when a few weeks back I wanted to visit the place, I was apprehensive as I had heard that the place has lost its quality over the years. But, boy, was I in for a wonderful surprise. Located in (now closed) Hotel Yamuna View, Mandarin can be easily missed if you are not familiar with the area. Google Maps can help! The place offers probably the best Chinese in the city. It is not authentic Chinese, let me tell you, but also not so Indian-ised that you feel deceived. Soups are an absolute delight! I would suggest that you ask your server for their recommendations and he can guide you the best. Overall, its a lovely place, not highly frequented which makes it all the more special.

The food is above average. I can't guarantee the authentic Chinese food but decent enough to satisfy the taste buds, at least the best Chinese in Agra. Ambience is ok however service quality is lacking. Although the staff is quite decent but they had only one guy who was serving the entire restaurant which delays your order quite a bit and it's a big irritant. But definitely a must visit place for a good Chinese food in the town.

Food is not at all authentic Chinese. It's overall ok-ok Indian Chinese restaurant, though the decor is good. It was surprising to find only two of us in the entire place in a Saturday night in such a popular place. Average.
